The Electricity Company of Ghana has announced planned and emergency maintenance exercises in the Tema and Ashanti Regions for Sunday, April 19, 2026, as engineers continue efforts to resolve multiple feeder faults and damaged high-tension poles that disrupted power supply in parts of the Ashanti West Region on Saturday.
According to the power distributor, the coordinated works are aimed at improving service reliability and addressing urgent network challenges. The outages are scheduled to begin at 9:00 am in affected areas, with durations depending on the nature of work at each location.
In the Tema Region, a planned maintenance exercise will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, affecting communities including Philipkope, Greenstone Junction, Perftech, Ataa Mensah, Teye Kwame, Afienya Youth Centre and nearby areas.
The seven-hour outage is expected to impact both residential and commercial activities as technical teams undertake critical infrastructure upgrades.
