Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Ralph Poku-Adusei, has extended support to several communities within his constituency, using the Easter period and his birthday to advance ongoing grassroots development efforts.
A delegation of New Patriotic Party constituency executives, led by Chairman Alex Arko Addai Darkwa, presented cash and building materials on behalf of the MP to communities undertaking self-help projects.
During the Easter weekend, which coincided with his birthday, the MP carried out a series of donations that benefited multiple communities across the constituency. Among the key projects supported were the construction of the Ahwiren Police post and the Akyeremade Community Centre.
Work on the Akyeremade Community Centre, described as one of the largest of its kind in the area, has made significant progress with the latest support.
Hon. Poku Adusei also assured that communities yet to benefit from such interventions would be considered in subsequent phases of his development agenda.
The gesture reflects his commitment to empowering local communities to drive their own development through collective effort and targeted support.
Beneficiary communities including Bogyawe, Abesewa, Ahwiren, Esiase, Bedomase, Akyeremade, Mensaase, Sebedie, Asokwa Tunsuom, Biribiwomanmu, Kokofu, Pampaso, and Sefwi received assistance in the form of about 400 bags of cement and cash donations to support their projects.
Beyond these interventions, the MP has undertaken a range of development initiatives across the constituency. These include mechanised water projects, clearance of long-standing refuse dumps, and skills training programmes that have benefited over 5,000 young people.
Through a partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, hundreds of women have also received financial support to start and grow their businesses. Additional efforts have led to improvements in network connectivity, street lighting, and road infrastructure in several communities.
In the education sector, he has introduced the School Starter Pack Scheme, which provides support to top-performing BECE students, further reinforcing his focus on human capital development in the constituency.
