Tano South MCE calls for collaborative efforts to develop municipality

The Tano South Municipal Chief Executive Hon Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong has called on citizens and stakeholders in the municipality to collectively come together to ensure the development of the Assembly.

The MCE noted that the total development of every society cannot be achieved by a single person or few government or state appointees and individuals but through the collective efforts of collaborating institutions and agencies as well as well meaning groups and individuals.

Hon Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong made the call during engagement with the media in retrospection of his eight months stewardship as the Municipal Chief Executive of the Tano South Municipal Assembly.

According to the MCE, a lot has been achieved since his appointment as the municipality chief executive of the Tano South Assembly.

He said the assembly has seen significant improvement in development under his administration and that of the ruling National Democratic Congress government.

The MCE disclosed that the assembly is now tackling its developmental challenges holistically but strictly in accordance with the guidelines by the central government and that of the local government ministry.

He said his administration has upon assumption of office initiated a number of projects under education, health, water and Sanitation and other sectors in various communities in the municipality.

These the MCE said includes a one number 3 unit classroom block at Brosanko and a K G block at Tuagyankrom respectively.

He said the Assembly is undertaking the construction of 25 boreholes out of which 16 are to be mechanized.

Hon Emmanuel Frimpong pointed out that his major challenge has been the number of legacy projects he inherited in the municipality.

According to the MCE, eleven of these projects under the defunct Middle Belt Development Authority are without proper documentations.

He said the situation has made it difficult for the assembly to make use of funds allocated for these projects from the Common Funds received so far.

He disclosed that engagement with the Local Government Ministry is far advanced and will soon secure approval to channel funds meant for these projects into other infrastructure needs whilst awaiting proper arrangements for these projects in the subsequent allocations.
