The OTE Dollar Foundation has renovated and handed over a washroom facility to Ghana National College Basic and Inclusive School in Cape Coast, marking the organisation’s first legacy project for 2026.
The project, completed on 5 March 2026, coincided with the birthday of the foundation’s Executive Director, Mr. Rockson Arthur, and was part of activities organised to celebrate the day through community service.
The washroom facility, previously in a dilapidated state, was renovated after the foundation conducted an assessment of the school’s sanitation conditions. Skilled artisans, including a mason, carpenter, plumber, and painter, were engaged to carry out the rehabilitation works.
The commissioning ceremony took place during the school’s African Day celebration, where members of the foundation joined students and staff to formally present the upgraded facility to the school community.
Representatives of the foundation said the project reflects their ongoing commitment to improving basic infrastructure in schools and creating safer learning environments for children.
Following the handover, the OTE Dollar Foundation team continued their humanitarian activities across the Cape Coast Metropolis. They visited four health facilities to support new mothers who delivered on the same day, 5 March 2026, by paying their medical bills and presenting them with envelopes as a gesture of support.
The visits were made to Ewim Polyclinic, Adisadel Urban Health Centre, Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital, and Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, where the foundation team interacted with healthcare staff and families.
Team members noted that the activities were also an opportunity to recognise the leadership of the foundation’s Executive Director.
“Mr. Rockson Arthur’s generosity and commitment to helping others continue to inspire the work we do as a team. His leadership has created opportunities for us to impact many lives across our communities,” a team member said.
The foundation stated it will continue focusing on legacy projects and humanitarian initiatives throughout 2026 as part of its broader mission to support education, health, and community development in Ghana.
