Rotary Club International on Friday presented a number of books to the University of Ghana Primary and Junior High School at the University of Ghana, Legon.
The President of the Accra East Branch of the Club, Mr Gilbert Leibel, said the main objective of the Club was to help reduce social problems, hence their belief in assisting schools, teachers and pupils with relevant textbooks and other educational materials.
Mr Leibel said reading was very important because it helped to improve knowledge, vocabulary and creativity, and appealed to the pupils to make good use of the books and take good care of them.
The Headmistress, Madam Cecilia Morrison, said the pride of any reputable school had to be its ability to establish and maintain high academic standards.
Madam Cecilia Morrison thanked the Accra North East Rotary Club for the donation.
