The Accra Regional Police Command has commenced investigations into an alleged arson attack at the headquarters of Grace Mountain Power Ministry (Alpha Hour) at Mile 7 under the Tesano Division.
The incident follows the arrest of a suspect, identified as Kesse Okyerewaa Koranteng, who is believed to be connected to the fire outbreak at the church premises.
According to police sources, intelligence gathered on Monday, February 9, 2026, led to her arrest after it was discovered that she had allegedly gained unlawful access to the church auditorium and deliberately set it ablaze.
Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect entered the auditorium with a liquid substance stored in rubber containers. She is said to have sprinkled the substance around the interior of the hall before igniting it with matches, triggering the fire.
The blaze caused extensive destruction to property within the auditorium. Among the items destroyed were air conditioners, chairs, windows, ten offering boxes, ceiling materials, electrical wiring, and parts of the lighting system, resulting in significant damage to the church’s infrastructure.
Police officers who visited the scene retrieved four rubber containers suspected to have been used in carrying out the act. The containers have been secured as exhibits to support ongoing investigations.
The suspect has been cautioned and remains in police custody, assisting with investigations as authorities work to determine the motive behind the alleged act and whether additional suspects may be involved.
