President John Dramani Mahama is expected to announce his first major reshuffle of ministers and heads of state institutions in the coming days, a move that could significantly reshape the leadership landscape across key sectors of his administration.

The anticipated changes are expected to affect both ministers and chief executives, with some officials likely to be removed over concerns about performance, while others who are considered effective may be reassigned to more challenging sectors to address specific issues the President wants resolved.

Sources close to the Presidency indicate that several high-profile political figures and heads of state institutions are being considered for reassignment. Names being mentioned include Interior Minister Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, Lands and Natural Resources Minister Armah Kofi Buah, Communications Minister Sam George, and Transport Minister Joseph Nikpe, along with a number of chief executives and directors general, according to mynewsgh reports.

The sources further disclosed that President Mahama is under increasing pressure from close advisers and some family members to effect the changes as part of efforts to strengthen governance and performance.

In total, up to 12 chief executives, directors general, and deputies are expected to be affected by the shake-up.

Although the Presidency has not yet issued official confirmation, insiders say the reshuffle forms part of a broader strategy to realign the administration for improved efficiency, accountability, and delivery on key economic and infrastructure priorities.

President Mahama is also said to view unexpected changes as part of his anti-corruption strategy, aimed at ensuring that no minister or chief executive assumes their position is secure or beyond scrutiny.

Political analysts believe the reshuffle may also be intended to reward loyalty, enhance technocratic leadership, and reposition the government ahead of major policy initiatives expected later in the year.

According to sources, the ministerial reshuffle is likely to be announced within the month, while changes involving chief executives are expected to be implemented gradually up to June 2026.

Land and Natural Resources ministry is hard job because of the hard influencers financing Galamsay. Montaka loves deals and can not be totally trusted. He works hard and should be in the cabinet but safer ministry ( Transport or somewhere ) . No near national security. And that slow AG, though good but acts and work too slow. Not easy to change your AG though.
