Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has vowed to continue criticising former President Nana Akufo-Addo over what he describes as years of misgovernance and corruption.
Kpebu argued that despite promises of delivering top-class governance, Akufo-Addo’s administration failed on key indicators, including constitutional review, economic growth, press freedom, and anti-corruption measures.
Speaking in a video shared on social media by the Ghanaian Times Newspaper on Friday, January 16, the lawyer noted that the former President must go on his knees to apologise to Ghanaians.
“Ghanaians were misgoverned and retrogressed under Akufo-Addo. He didn’t allow constitutional review for eight years that would have enabled more accountable MMDAs, and all proposals from the commission were ignored,” he said.
The lawyer further criticised the former President’s record on corruption and governance, noting that he could not perform better than the first John Mahama administration on Corruption Perception Index despite promising to do better.
“He said he was better than John Mahama, yet after eight years, not a single year did he outperform him on the Corruption Perception Index,” he said.
“My cry is that he’s a scam, and we will continue to mention him and hold him accountable,” Kpebu added.
