Leading member of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah, has criticised former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over what he described as a poor record in office.

He argued that the former President should not be celebrated in Ghana’s official history.

Mr. Mornah claimed that the Akufo-Addo administration left behind a legacy that should prompt serious reflection within the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking on Accra-based JoyPrime on Monday, January 12, the outspoken politician noted that the former President’s name and title should not be proudly referenced in public records.

He further ueged the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to take responsibility for its time in government and reassess its performance if it hopes to regain public trust.

“If I have power anywhere I see President Akufo-Addo in our books, in any document, you just take bitumen and plaster it, because this is a man you don’t want to be associated with as president,” Mr. Mornah stated.

He blamed the Electoral Commission for allegedly paving the way Akufo-Addo’s second victory in the 2020 general elections that ended up in the Supreme Court.

Mr. Mornah, who is one of the leading conveners of the Arise Ghana Movement, was very vocal under the past administration and led several protests against economic hardships and bad policies.
