Mohammed Kudus is set to miss Ghana’s international friendly against Germany after sustaining a thigh injury that is expected to sideline him until early April.

The 25-year-old midfielder was forced off in the first half of Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League clash with Sunderland last weekend after picking up the injury, which has since been confirmed as a significant setback.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank provided an update on Thursday, revealing that the problem affects both Kudus’ tendon and quadriceps, effectively ruling him out until after the March international break.

“Kudus is a bigger one, to the tendon and quad, and don't expect him back until after the March international break," he said.

With the international window ending late in March, Kudus is now targeting a return in early April, meaning he is likely to feature only in the final seven Premier League matches of the season.

The injury all but confirms his absence from Ghana’s squad for the friendly against Germany, scheduled for March 30 in Stuttgart.

Kudus’ unavailability is a setback for the Black Stars, with the Germany fixture regarded as an important preparatory test ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in June. Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.

Ghana will also be without defender Mohammed Salisu, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
