The Atebubu Amantin Municipal Assembly has awarded contracts for the rehabilitation and construction of several facilities across the municipality as part of efforts to accelerate local development.

The contracts span key sectors including education, water, health and administration.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Masud Musah Ayarba Thomas, disclosed this at the third ordinary meeting of the Assembly held in Atebubu.

“I am happy to announce that during the quarter, the Assembly successfully awarded 12 contracts for the construction of key facilities across the municipality. These projects were awarded in full compliance with public procurement laws, ensuring transparency and value for money,” he said.

Among the projects are the rehabilitation and furnishing of the Assembly Hall, the rehabilitation of the Assembly block, and the refurbishment of its warehouse, all located in Atebubu.

In the education sector, the Paul Adunia Basic School in Atebubu will benefit from the construction and furnishing of a kindergarten block. The English and Arabic School in Amantin is set to receive a furnished three unit classroom block with ancillary facilities, while the Bresuano community will get a furnished six unit classroom block with ancillary facilities to improve teaching and learning.

Health infrastructure will also see major improvements, with the construction of CHPS compounds at Masuo 44 and Sabidi. In addition, the existing Nyomoase CHPS compound will be upgraded with the addition of a laboratory and maternity ward to facilitate its conversion into a clinic.

To address the persistent water challenges in the municipality, the Assembly will construct 15 boreholes at various locations as an interim solution, while continuing engagements with the Community Water and Sanitation Agency for a permanent remedy.

Mr Ayarba Thomas noted that some of the projects are already underway and at different stages of completion, while others are scheduled to commence in 2026.
