Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as Odo Broni and one of the widows of late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, affectionately called Daddy Lumba, has paid an emotional tribute to her husband at his burial.
The late musician, who died earlier this year while receiving treatment at the Bank Hospital in Accra, is being laid to rest today, Saturday, December 13, in Kumasi.
In a tribute read on her behalf, Odo Broni expressed gratitude for the love, protection and honour she said the music icon showed her during their years together.
“To my husband, Charles, my king, my protector. If your spirit still works among us, then let the truth itself rise as our vengeance and let the love we shared be the fire that consumes falsehood,” she said.
She added that the dignity with which Daddy Lumba treated her and the family they built together would outlive any false narratives surrounding their relationship.
“You treated me like a queen. You gave me a family, you gave me joy, and that truth is eternal and will outlive every lie,” the tribute stated.
Many observers on social media have interpreted portions of the tribute as a subtle jab at her co-wife, Akosua Serwah Fosu, amid lingering tensions within the family.
The remarks come after Akosua Serwah initiated a legal challenge seeking to bar Odo Broni from describing herself as Daddy Lumba’s wife.
The Kumasi High Court, after a protracted legal battle, ruled that both women are recognised wives of the late musician under the law.
