Bishop Owusu Ansah, a resident Pastor of Adom FM has launched a fierce attack on Her Ladyship Dorinda Smith Arthur after the Kumasi High Court ruled that both Odo Broni and Akosua Serwaa should be allowed to perform widowhood rites for the late musician Daddy Lumba.
In a fiery address on Adom FM today, the bishop openly questioned the judge’s moral standing and accused her of promoting values that contradict Christian teachings. He warned that her ruling would not go without consequences.
“You, the judge, wait. We will come to you with the word of God. I am taking my time. You want to tell us that there is no use in getting married lately. You want to tell us that adultery is not a sin. God will deal with you, and He won’t let you go free,” he declared.
Bishop Ansah continued with strong biblical references, insisting that the ruling undermined the essence of marriage and risked damaging social and moral foundations. He invoked the story of Nebuchadnezzar, saying the judge would face divine judgment just as the Babylonian king did.
He accused the court of attempting to twist established principles. According to him, no legal interpretation can override the teachings of scripture. “You can’t bend the law to change what the Bible has said. We will come straight with the word of God and speak the mind of God. You want to destroy the next generation, but we will never keep quiet.”
The controversy stems from the High Court’s November 28, 2025 decision, issued in response to a petition filed by Akosua Serwaa, Daddy Lumba’s legal wife, who sought full recognition as the sole spouse entitled to perform widowhood rites. Justice Dorinda Smith Arthur, after hearing the case, ruled that both Serwaa and Odo Broni could take part in the customary rites.
The judgment has frustrated supporters of Akosua Serwaa, who insist that she alone should have been granted that right.

Dear Bishop Owusu Ansah, The judgment delivered by Lady Dr Dorinda Smith Arthur does not undermine marriage, diminish the sin of adultery, or contradict the Word of God. At no point did she state that adultery is acceptable or that marital fidelity no longer matters. Her ruling was a legal determination based strictly on evidence, Ghanaian marriage law, and the standards required to prove a valid ordinance marriage. A court of law cannot declare a marriage legally binding when the required doc...
