The Chairman of the Committee overseeing arrangements for the final funeral rites of the late music icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, also known as Daddy Lumba Baffour Kofi Atobra II, has confirmed that the funeral date remains unchanged.
According to the Chief of Dadiesoaba, the funeral will go ahead on December 13 as originally scheduled by the family in consultation with the Manhyia Palace.
The clarification comes after family member Evangelist Papa Shee publicly announced a change, claiming the funeral would now take place in March 2026.
Addressing the media on Sunday, November 23, 2025, Dadiesobahene criticised Papa Shee for making the announcement without the committee’s knowledge.
"The date was agreed on by the family in consultation with the Manhyia Palace, and so if there were any changes, you have no authority to announce it without informing Manhyia first," he said. "Besides, the committee is not aware of any changes in the date, so how can you disrespect the committee and announce a new date at their blank side?"
He urged the public to disregard Papa Shee’s claims and stressed that all official communications regarding the funeral will come directly from the committee.
