The Director for Innovation of the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Mr Emmanuel Ofori, has stated that the 2025 National Cybersecurity Challenge (NCC) reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to building a safe and resilient digital ecosystem.

This initiative, according to him, empowers young people to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.

The event was part of the National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, organised by the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) to advocate for cyber hygiene and digital safety among Ghanaian students.

Speaking on behalf of the sector minister last Friday, Mr Ofori expressed his delight in participating in the 2025 Champions Edition of the NCC. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all contestants for the passion and knowledge you demonstrated throughout this competition,” he said.

He emphasised that their performance reaffirms the fact that Ghana’s young people are not only consumers of technology but also creative problem solvers and defenders of our digital future.

Mr Ofori noted that the essence of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month is to empower every Ghanaian, especially the youth, to understand the value of cybersecurity and their role in safeguarding our collective digital space.

The Director also highlighted the importance of collaboration among public and private sectors, academic institutions, and international partners to develop skills in cybersecurity and digital innovation. He reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the Cyber Security Authority and other stakeholders in deepening awareness and strengthening national capacity against cyber threats.

The 2025 NCC concluded with St. Peter’s Senior High School claiming the championship title, competing against OLA Girls Senior High School and St. Monica’s Senior High School.

The competition serves as a vital platform for nurturing young talent in cybersecurity, enhancing critical thinking, and inspiring career interests in ICT and related fields.
