The Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Thomas Amiss Mitchell, has arrived in Ghana for a high-level diplomatic engagement with President John Dramani Mahama, set to take place on Friday, October 17, 2025.
Prime Minister Mitchell and his delegation touched down at the Kotoka International Airport on Thursday evening, where they were warmly received by Ghana’s Minister of Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, and the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie.

The visit marks a major milestone in the growing relationship between Ghana and Grenada, as both nations seek to deepen cooperation and build stronger ties between the Caribbean and West Africa.

According to government sources, discussions between President Mahama and Prime Minister Mitchell will focus on strengthening political and economic relations, expanding trade and investment opportunities, and promoting cultural collaboration. The two leaders are also expected to explore joint initiatives in tourism, healthcare, and education.

Observers view the visit as part of a broader effort to revive and solidify Ghana’s engagement with the Caribbean region, rooted in shared historical, cultural, and ancestral connections.
The outcome of Friday’s talks is expected to pave the way for new bilateral agreements and partnerships that will enhance cooperation between Accra and St. George’s, reinforcing a shared vision for sustainable development, mutual growth, and global solidarity.
