Manhyia South MP invites researchers to explore constituency's rich history and culture

The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Hon. Lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour, has extended an invitation to students and researchers in the fields of history and political science to visit his constituency and delve into Ghana's rich cultural heritage.

Speaking on OTEC 102.9 FM in Kumasi, the MP highlighted the significance of Manhyia South Constituency, which is home to the Manhyia Palace and Museum, among other historical sites.

"If we are to critically discuss the history of Ghana's cultural practices and politics, Manhyia South Constituency is one area that stands tall among her peers," Hon. Baffour emphasized.

He drew attention to the constituency's notable historical figures, such as Nana Baffour Akoto, a champion of human rights, and Amadu Baba, a native of Allabar, whose deportation during Nkrumah's administration is a significant event in Ghana's political history.

The MP also mentioned the patriotic exploits of Otumfuo Agyeman Prempeh I, citing the numerous historical events that have shaped Ghana's history and culture.

"Take the Patriotic and exploits of Otumfuo Agyeman Prempeh I, and many other historical events which have shaped the history and culture of Ghana, all these make the Constituency unique and different from others," he said.

Hon. Baffour expressed his desire to see the constituency's history documented for posterity, emphasizing the importance of preserving Ghana's cultural heritage for future generations.
