The Adabraka District Court has adjourned the case involving the murder of Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah to October 22, 2025.

The adjournment followed a request from the prosecution, which informed the court that the police were yet to receive the comprehensive medical report on the cause of death for submission to the Office of the Attorney General.

The court, presided over by Nana Abena Asoh Owusu-Omenyo, granted the request and adjourned proceedings.

The accused persons, Bright Aweh, also known as “Highest Bright,” and Thomas Zigah, are standing trial for their alleged roles in the murder of Amoah. Both have been charged with conspiracy to murder and murder but have not yet entered a plea. They remain in lawful custody.

During the court session, relatives of the deceased, dressed in red, black, and white T-shirts, hurled insults at the accused as they were escorted out, expressing anger and grief over the brutal killing.

Investigations revealed that Amoah went missing on July 3, 2025, after leaving home to meet Aweh at Ashongman Estates. His body was later discovered in a drain at Abom Junction.

Police investigations linked the meeting to a financial dispute between the two men, following WhatsApp exchanges that included images of cash. Aweh reportedly claimed to have given Amoah GH₵500,000 to settle a debt and return the balance, but inconsistencies in his story drew police attention.

Subsequent searches at Aweh’s residence uncovered a bloodstained camouflage outfit and a fufu pestle wrapped in polythene, leading to his re-arrest and reclassification of the case from kidnapping to murder. Zigah was later arrested after further investigations connected him to the crime.

Both suspects are expected to reappear in court on October 22.
