The Principle of Love and Yeshua’s Example

It is written, “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous” (1 Yochanan | 1 John 5:2-3, KJV).

Yeshua (Jesus) is lord! Amen. And truly, since he is lord—meaning ruler—he will rule according to the dictates of his Father’s vision for the earth from the foundation of the world. Therefore, if we want to see Yeshua haMashyakh’s Father’s name lifted up in the systems of mankind, those who name the name of Mashyakh (Christ) must depart from iniquity.

Yes, in the world system, the term LOVE is often used and abused to reflect a fake emotional disposition towards another person. I believe a famed singer of the African-American generations once asked, “What’s love, but a second-hand emotion?” Unfortunately for her, even at her age—she sang those lyrics while in her 40s—it seems that she still hadn’t understood the difference between “love” and “affection”. In other words, she probably hadn’t understood that love is a principle of Divine character whereas affection is simply a tender attachment to someone or something. Read on . . .

Love is not a Second-hand Emotion, let alone an Emotion

I am often grieved when I hear children of Elohym (God) express their sentiments about love being a feeling. Tell me the truth, you thought so too, huh?

Well, the truth is that love is NOT a feeling. Rather, love is a principle of righteousness. Feelings come and feelings go. But love that is rooted in righteous character maintains its disposition towards others based on what the Ruakh haKodesh (Holy Spirit) desires as expressed in scripture or by the speakings of the Spirit. This reality about love gives us understanding about how the Holy Spirit communicates with mankind. Here are four ways. Please note them.

1. The Holy Spirit can actually speak audibly.
2. The Holy Spirit can actually write.
3. The Holy Spirit can inspire visions.
4. The Holy Spirit can give dreams.

As you can see, Yahweh, the God of Yisrael is the Master Communicator. He uses verbal, written and visual communication tools.

He always knows what to say and of course, how to say it. It is written, “A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger” (Mishley | Proverbs 15:1, KJV). The speakings of the Godhead consist of the words of Yehsua, Yahweh’s Torah and the Holy Spirit’s past and real-time utterances. These speakings are consistent such that the Godhead NEVER says anything that contradicts what has, is or will be spoken in the future. God does not contradict Himself.

The confusion among God’s people as far as prophecy and other speakings are concerned reflects the level of iniquity and lack of love that exists in the body of Mashyakh (Christ) today. Scripture clearly points out that “. . . God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints” (1 Corinthians 14:33, KJV).

Yes, Yahweh does not originate speakings that LEGISLATE confusion. Like His Son Yeshua who is the express image of His Father, God is “. . . the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8, KJV). With emphasis, let me point out that the Spirit will not contradict the writings of the prophets. Likewise, he does not contradict sound doctrine by giving you dreams that justify fornication or adultery, in contradiction of the Torah! That does not signify the love of God.

Mankind was designed to love One Another

Yeshua was and remained a lover of Elohym despite the many challenges and trials he faced while living on the earth. Despite everything he went through, he DID NOT sin.

In fact, the Holy Scriptures clearly state that Yeshua, “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him” (Hebrews 5:8-9, KJV). What a statement! Yeshua’s suffering actually taught him obedience, made him perfect and qualified him to be the author of eternal salvation.

The previous statement is a clear indictment against MANY of the people who call themselves “Christian” (i.e. Christ-like) today. Because of their unwillingness to suffer certain things in the will of God, they have thereby discarded OBEDIENCE, PERFECTION (aka “MATURITY”) and cannot qualify to be the ministers of the gospel that they were intended to be.

Without love, you cannot do the work of Elohym. Love is the power that fuels the designs of God. And as a design of the Most High God, mankind cannot properly function AT OPTIMUM without the Spirit of God inspiring him or her to obey God in perfection. The second greatest commandment is that “. . . Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater . . . ” (Mark 12:31, KJV). Truth be told, one CANNOT properly love their neighbour without first having learned to love God. God bless you in Yeshua’s name. Amen. Yeshua is lord!
