The chief executive officer of Kumasi-based Fox FM, Francis Kwabena Poku Jnr has condemned the recent survey conducted by the Dispatch newspaper on the performance of radio stations in Accra and Kumasi, saying it is not authentic.
According to him, the survey report lacked credibility and the manner in which the survey was conducted needed to be questioned since it favoured certain radio stations.
He said the players in the radio industry only knew of GAM which had been accredited to conduct such surveys for radio and television stations in the country.
Francis Kwabena Poku who is also the CEO of Hot FM in Accra, noted that the stakeholders in the radio industry always found it difficult to complain about any survey report by GAM because of its credibility.
He said the survey conducted by the Dispatch was only to demoralise certain radio stations, not to serve as a guide in their activities.
He stated that GAM survey covers every radio programme on hourly basis and also comes out with data on how the survey was conducted on each programme on radio.
He added that people listen to radio based on various programmes aired, something the Dispatch should have based it survey on.
