Politician and businessman Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has recounted the challenges he faced in his early life, particularly during his time in Senior High School.
The former Assin Central Member of Parliament revealed that while at Adisadel College, his colleagues often laughed at him for speaking poor English.
Speaking at the 2025 Entrepreneurship Summit held at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Ho, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful said his current impact on society is undeniable.
“They laughed at my English at Adisadel… But today, they can’t ignore my impact.
“I placed 23rd out of 144, and they mocked how I spoke. But I had zeal, I had vision, and I had the audacity to dream big,” he said.
Mr Agyapong encouraged young Ghanaians not to be discouraged by their background or current circumstances, but rather, to dream big and work hard.
“I’m here today because of the zeal with which I perceive life. There is nothing going on in the world of advancement that does not contribute to national development.
“I share all these with you so you know that the wealth you enjoy at home today will vanish if you don’t put in the work. Even if your father leaves you the whole world, you’ll lose it if you’re lazy. Those of us who come from nothing and are aggressive to succeed—one day, that aggressiveness will pay off,” he added.
