A wave of youthful innovation from Ghana made a powerful impression on the international stage as a team of students mentored by CKBS (The Robotics Masters) took part in the renowned Codeavour 6.0 International AI & Robotics Championship, hosted at the Qatar National Convention Centre from May 16–17, 2025.
The event, which brought together budding tech minds from over 50 countries, was a celebration of creativity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Young innovators were tasked with using emerging technologies to tackle pressing global issues.
CKBS: Empowering the Future Through STEM
At the heart of Ghana’s participation was CKBS, a leading force in STEM, AI, and robotics education. Over the years, CKBS has championed a hands-on, project-based approach in schools across the country.
Through intensive training programs, mentorship, and real-world challenges, they’re empowering even the youngest learners to think like engineers, coders, and change-makers.
The Ghanaian students selected for Codeavour 6.0 were drawn from CKBS’s partner schools, chosen not just for their technical skills but for their enthusiasm and drive to solve problems creatively. Their journey to Qatar was a testament to months of preparation, innovation, and collaboration.
Innovation in Action
During the competition, the students showcased projects focused on climate action, health innovation, and environmental sustainability. They combined AI, sensor-based robotics, and smart coding to create solutions that were both meaningful and practical.
Beyond the awards and recognition, the competition offered these learners a chance to connect with peers from diverse cultures, gain global exposure, and expand their horizons as young technologists.
More Than a Competition
Speaking after the event, Mr. Bright Odame, coach and representative of CKBS, emphasized the broader purpose behind Ghana’s participation.
“This isn’t just about winning. It’s about building a future where African youth can compete, contribute, and lead in global innovation. Our learners showed the world that they’re more than capable,” he said.
Building Momentum for STEM in Ghana
CKBS continues to play a pioneering role in transforming education by integrating robotics and AI into classrooms across Ghana. With strong partnerships and a mission to bridge the digital divide, the organization is preparing the next generation to not only use technology—but to invent it.
The Ghanaian team’s presence and performance at Codeavour 6.0 stands as a powerful symbol of what’s possible when passion, mentorship, and opportunity meet.
