Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant Kennedy Agyapong sent his commiserations to traders who lost their goods and livelihoods in the Adum Central Business District fire.
The Adum Central Market in Kumasi was devastated by a fire that broke out in the early hours of Friday, March 21.
The blaze, which started around 5:00 a.m., spread rapidly within the central business district, causing panic among traders and shop owners.
A statement dated March 25, signed by Kwaku Amoh-Darteh, spokesperson for the former Assin Central Member of Parliament, urged the Ghana National Fire Service, the Police, and all relevant state security agencies to work together to find lasting solutions.
“We need safer markets, better emergency access, and reliable fire prevention systems,” the statement read in part.
The statement added: “At a time when people are striving to rebuild their businesses, such a setback is truly heartbreaking. He wants you to know that you are not alone—we stand together as one nation.
“As a businessman, he understands the immense effort required to build a business—the long hours, the sacrifices, and the hopes for a better future. To see it all taken away in an instant is painful beyond words. He feels your pain and shares in your frustration.”
