A tragic accident took place at Dr. Mensah Market in Kumasi Metropolis, Ashanti Region, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, when a commercial urban bus ran over numerous traders, leaving four people in critical condition.
The injured traders are currently fighting for their lives at Manhyia Government Hospital after suffering serious injuries from the horrific incident.
Eyewitnesses reported that the urban bus registered as GW-1502-09, experienced brake failure and crashed into women selling goods on the market's pavements.
There are concerns among some traders that the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol, which could have led to the accident.
The police have apprehended the driver for further investigation.
The incident has shaken the community, and authorities are working diligently to uncover the cause of the tragedy and ensure that those responsible face consequences.
