Pentecost Preparatory School in the Atiwa District of the Eastern Region triumphed in ndependence Day Anniversary Constitution quiz

The Pentecost Preparatory School in the Atiwa District of the Eastern Region triumphed over rival schools in the 68th Independence Day Anniversary Constitution quiz organized by the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE).

The event took place on March 10, 2025, at the Kwabeng Trinity Presbyterian Church Hall and featured five participating schools: Kwabeng Roman Catholic School, Anglican School, Presby School, A.M.E. Zion School, and Pentecost Preparatory School.

This year’s competition, titled “Ghana's Future: Our Collective Responsibility,” aimed to encourage students to participate in the NCCE Civic Education Clubs at their respective schools and learn the 1992 Constitution to become law-abiding citizens.

The quiz mistress, Mrs. Mercy A. Bonnie, the Atiwa West GNAT Secretary, quizzed the contestants with four rounds of questions focusing on the 1992 Constitution and current affairs related to Ghana’s history.

The contest concluded with Pentecost Preparatory School winning with 61 points, while Kwabeng Anglican School and A.M.E. Zion School secured second and third places with 60 points and 56 points, respectively.

Kwabeng Roman Catholic School came in fourth with 55 points, and Kwabeng Presby School placed fifth with 54 points, marking the end of the one-day event.

To foster regular study of the Constitution among students, all competitors were supplied with exercise books, pens, and pencils, and supporters from the participating schools were given a copy of the 1992 Constitution.

In addition, the winning school, Pentecost Preparatory School, received a plaque and bronze medals.

Among the dignitaries present were Madam Benedict Eyra Dikta, the Regional Director's representative from the Regional Office, Madam Sandra Donkor, the Circuit Supervisor of the Directorate of the Education Office, Joseph Owusu Korantng, Atiwa West NCCE District Director.

Students from participating schools exhibited a true supporting spirit to remain cheering and supporting their contestants to occupy their positions.
