Ernest Owusu Bempah, the Deputy Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has applauded President John Dramani Mahama for appointing Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP).
He said COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno is well-suited to lead the Ghana Police Service.
According to Owusu Bempah, Yohuno has distinguished himself as a dedicated officer in the fight against crime.
“I don’t agree with John Dramani Mahama on his policies, but with this appointment, I agree with him. I suggested this to the former president, but he could not act on it, and so I am so happy that John Dramani Mahama has done it to help fight crime. Christian Tetteh Yohuno is known to fight armed robbers, so I know armed robbery will be a thing of the past,” he told Asempa FM.
DCOP Christian Tetteh Yohuno was officially announced as Ghana’s new IGP by President Mahama on March 13, 2025. He was sworn into office on March 14, 2025, with expectations that his leadership will transform and modernize the Ghana Police Service.
With a wealth of experience in law enforcement, Yohuno is anticipated to bring significant changes to policing in the country, strengthening security and enhancing public confidence in the police service.

If what you are saying is accurate, Akufo Addo can't control and dictate to Yohuno. The former president was constantly searching for people he might use since he had been baptized with the holy spirit of criminality. Jean Mensa and her crew, will be the next after Dampare. They are dangerous to Ghana's democracy.
