He acknowledged the overwhelming outpouring of love and encouragement from well-wishers both within Ghana and beyond, particularly in the past 24 hours.
He extended his appreciation to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for appointing him as IGP, a position that made him the youngest to hold the role in the Fourth Republic. Dr. Dampare also thanked President John Dramani Mahama for the cordial working relationship they shared during their brief time together.
Additionally, he recognized the prayers, wisdom, and guidance of religious and traditional leaders, as well as the collaboration and support from the heads of sister security agencies. He expressed gratitude to civil society organizations for their constructive input and encouragement, and he acknowledged the international community and diplomatic missions for their engagement and support during his leadership.
Reflecting on his 35-year career in the Ghana Police Service, Dr. Dampare expressed pride in his journey from General Constable to Inspector General of Police, noting that he was also the youngest Commissioner of Police and IGP in the Fourth Republic.

At nearly 55 years old, Dr. Dampare reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to Ghana, stating that he remains energetic, disciplined, and dedicated to serving his country with honor and integrity.
