The newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has pledged to uphold the core values and traditions of the Ghana Police Service, focusing on enhancing the integrity and professionalism of the force.
This commitment was made following his official swearing-in ceremony, held at the Jubilee House on Friday, March 14, and presided over by President John Dramani Mahama, who entrusted him with the responsibilities of the IGP.
In his acceptance speech, IGP Yohuno highlighted his commitment to creating a police service anchored in professionalism, transparency, accountability, and fairness. He shared his vision for modernizing the service while preserving the longstanding traditions that have shaped the Ghana Police Service.
He reassured the President, government officials, and the citizens of Ghana that under his leadership, the service would reflect discipline, respect for hierarchy, and a steadfast dedication to effective service delivery.
“In alignment with the transformation and modernization of the service, I pledge to uphold the values, traditions, and culture of the Ghana Police Service in accordance with the resetting agenda of the President.
“In this regard, the guiding principles will include discipline and respect for seniority. I assure you, the president, that professionalism, transparency, accountability and fairness shall underpin my administration and focus on renewing attitudes and performance,” he stated.
