Former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has strongly criticized ex-NPP General Secretary John Boadu, blaming him for fueling internal divisions that contributed to the party’s poor performance in the 2024 elections.
In an interview on Okay FM, Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu pointed out Boadu’s contradictory statements regarding the party’s post-election investigation. He noted that Boadu initially dismissed the need for an inquiry but later reversed his stance.
"At first, he said the investigation was unnecessary, but later, he turned around and said it was essential. How do you take such a person seriously when he keeps contradicting himself?" he questioned.
The former Majority Leader also took issue with Boadu’s comments on the handling of the investigation report, particularly his suggestion that the former president might not keep it secure.
"He said the former president might mishandle the document and that it could even end up in the wrong hands within his own household. What kind of statement is that?" he asked.
Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu further argued that Boadu’s frequent missteps exposed his lack of competence for a leadership role in the party.
"He has made numerous statements that clearly show he lacks the competence for his role," he emphasized.
His remarks add to the growing internal debates within the NPP as the party reflects on its electoral defeat and strategizes for the future.
