A Koforidua High Court has directed that a writ of summons be served on Nsawam Adoagyiri MP, Frank Annor Dompreh, through public announcements after repeated failed attempts to deliver it to him personally.
The order for substituted service was issued after court bailiffs were unable to locate Annor Dompreh to serve him with the summons.
Despite previous instructions to exhaust all available means, both the MP and Electoral Commission officials in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency failed to appear in court on January 23, 2025.
The case was filed by National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate Fummey Selorm Philibert and his legal team, contesting the Electoral Commission’s declaration of Annor Dompreh as the duly elected MP for Nsawam Adoagyiri.
Presiding Judge, Justice George Krofa Addae, ordered that the summons be made public through multiple channels. These include postings at the Nsawam Adoagyiri High Court, Magistrate Court, Circuit Court, and announcements on Fawe FM, a community radio station, which will broadcast the notice three times. Additionally, five local information centers will air the notice, while copies will be displayed on three major public notice boards, the New Patriotic Party's constituency office, and Annor Dompreh’s official residence.
The case has been adjourned to March 14, 2025.
