
Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Defence (MoD) officially assumes office on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
“As part of the welcome reception, the military will mount a Guard of Honour to officially welcome him to office at the forecourt of the Ministry of Defense.”
A press release issued by Colonel Ernestina Assan, Director of Public Relations, Ministry of Defence, and copied the Ghana News Agency, has said.
He succeeds Mr Dominic Nitiwul who was appointed by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and was responsible for the Ministry from February 17, 2017, to December 7, 2024.
Dr Boamah was appointed by President John Dramani Mahama as the Minister of Defense as well as the Ghana Armed Forces.
