Hospitalized NPP Still Hallucinating And Shouting Everywhere. Pain or Attention Seeking?

It used to be whispers of the birds that we hear in the early mornings interspersed with a known melodic cock crow before sunrise. A priceless alarm to those who do not fancy alarm clocks and the alarms on their cellular phones.

The narrative seems to have become completely different to the point where some humans have somehow assumed the whispering role of the birds, and even with a periodic crow before sunrise to set agendas for the day on some media platforms to cover up their inefficiencies over the years that have now come to light. The phenomena has become very predictable, especially in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Circles.

THE PAIN
Talk about sacking some of their party constituency executives, members, and foot soldiers has become concerning to the point many are possible thinking aloud if they will be next. Some TV and radio presenters inability to recover from the NPP’s massive loss in the 2024 general elections of Ghana resulting in some singing their opponents campaign songs lively but claims irritating is equally concerning.

Some Social media bloggers and influencers are conjuring reasons for the NPP humiliating loss passionately with coded pain expressions, and insults shot at anyone that in their minds caused their disgraceful defeat.

The pain for many has elevated to depression, simply because they did not create room for loss in their being to absorb it. The Party secretary was reported recently to have begun threatening to release secrets. What secrets could those be? An echo of a similar threat was once amplified by Hon. Kennedy Agyepong when some party members tried to portray him as the bad nut in the party a few years ago.

Accusations, blame games and attacks are soon to become part of the NPP motto if the elders and the respected in the party do not sit up and put their feet down to begin running back to the ideals of NPP that the likes of Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamaklo, Former Speaker Peter Ala Adjetey, Hon. B. J. Da Rocha, Hon Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, Former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama believed in, at least to remain buoyant in this turbulent and youthful political adrenalin that President Mahama has been quick to harness and develop with a listening speed, then the party may exist but become irrelevant to majority of Ghanaians.

Members of the NPP party may even queue to be accepted as the Alan Kyeremanteng Butterfly family or other parties to keep their political fire still burning.

Radical leadership changes, including the leadership in Parliament must be a bitter pill to swallow but may eventually yield some results, as it stands now, everything NPP, is ‘tainted’ with ex- president Akuffo Addo’s signature. Nothing has changed significantly.

When you sack a coach of a team, sometimes it is imperative the captain’s armband is equally moved to another player’s arm to bring some freshness and respect in the team, especially if the captain’s actions and inactions contributed to the humiliating defeat the team suffered.

The NPP must not deceive themselves with some alien reasons for losing the elections. Most of them know why they lost very badly.

Did the NPP truly expect Ghanaians to retain them on Nana Akuffo Addo’s 8 years record as president, when he came with a perceived economic wizkid to stabilize the cedi but ended up injuring it from the dollar being 4 Cedis, to a disrespectful 1 dollar to 17.20 cedi before election 2024?

Or is it because he succeeded in taking Ghana to a junk economic status rating and still had the audacity to beat his chest around yawning for accolades and appellations for that unpardonable record?

Were the NPP not aware that they destroyed parts of Ghana’s forest reserves with greedy mining concession grabbers at the presidency and party headquarters according to Professor Frimpong Boateng's report, to leave the people with polluted rivers and polluted sources of drinking water, with children being born deformed?

Or it is the case of forgetfulness about the fact that their 8-year reign under the leadership of former president Nana Akuffo Addo was bathed with massive scandals, corruption, and clearance of his ordained state property grabbers, and pals, including Ceceila Dapaah and Ken Ofori Atta, Gabby of PDS and, the Airport extortion of passengers' cash in the name of COVID by a company no one knows how they came into existence and to be at the Airport, they did not know?

Will the NPP refuse to admit that they deceived God with a Cathedral promise and in a clandestine way, rather punched holes in the national purse to build what has now become known as the world's most expensive pit and swimming pool for God, instead of protecting the national purse by their own words from the former president in particular? A reminding sermon the former First Lady, Rebecca Akuffu Addo abhors.

Will they acknowledge the fact that the former president and the NPP government messed up an educational system that prior to his unplanned free SHS has undergone periodic robust restructuring: courtesy trends in our educational system documented since time immemorial, they preferred supplying past questions to students to textbooks? Text books that have been unavailable for the same age as their reign since 2017. Today, Ghanaians are being told the 5.7 million beneficiaries Nana Akuffo Addo and Dr. Bawumia led NPP government for 8 years cemented in the minds of Ghanaians is now being claimed to be about 3 million beneficiaries, even by the man who manned the Ministry of Education. Let me quickly add that I am not in any way or form against free SHS.

Were the NPP blindfolded not to see how Nana Addo disrespected some chiefs and traditional rulers that are not from his lineage, and believed their people did not vote for him and his party to attract developements*, to the point he even had the audacity to publicly command chiefs to stand up as he walk by them without respecting their health conditions? But refuses to admonish his daughter standing next to him flipping her cell phone and receiving calls when the national anthem was being played at a function?

One will think the NPP will vividly remember the former president Nana Addo cited to be the Mother Sapient of Corruption by his own first appointed Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu.

His children are cited in many expose, including that of Honorable Okudzeto Ablakwa to have allegedly been giving themselves contracts and equally milking the state. Talk of Ambulance scandals, painting of overpass contracts, Airport duty free contract and many.

Well, if the NPP feels they do not readily know reasons for their lost, and will spend money and resources to go hunting for what many believe they already know, then it will no longer be a surprise to learn that the party under the former president Nana Akuffo Addo, now gradually being adjudged by many as the worst president Ghana ever had, have not repented. I have hinted them with a few.

ATTENTION SEEKING AND STUBBORN STANCE.

Paying attention to the demeanor of the NPP members at the Appointment Committee of Parliament sittings recently, one can put them into three groups. The humbled ones, where Hon. Bryan Acheampong leans, the play-to-gallery ones, where Hon. Afenyo Markins, Annoh Dompreh and the Deputy minority leader, Hon.Patricia Appiagyei lean, and the Ready-to-work ones. I admire Hon. Patricia's analytical and mediation skills. However, the MP for Asokwa must be herself to be bold in defending the people of her constituency which include members of the ruling party and the other parties, and Ghanaians in general. She cannot at all time side with the Minority leader, Hon. Afenyo Markins she is deputy to, even in the periods of unnecessary questions and interjections, interspersed with disrespect to the chair and Speaker of Parliament. Else, she will soon be seen as being in Parliament and leading her caucus without any leadership skills and sense of judgement of her own.

It appears many of the NPP MPs have just forgotten, or are consciously refusing to accept the fact that Ghanaians overwhelmingly rejected them for subjecting them (Ghanaians) to a never seen before economic hardship and bad governance. Their leader in Parliament who spearheaded their brutal ‘political Hospitalization’ is the same person they have today leading them. What then makes them believe the Ghanaian people will take them seriously?

The days of ignoring the voter, thinking somebody somewhere in an electoral office or in higher Court will propel their leap into power became a thing of the past the day Nana Akuffo Addo and the NPP got the news they were trailing around 38% of the total vote cast.

Elections going forward if they have not noticed already, must be won through better policy ideas, excellent propaganda-free communications, and hard work. It is no longer sharing of money and thinking the politicians are doing the citizenry a favor. It is rather the citizenry that are doing the politicians favor by electing them to feed, cloth and shelter them to in turn develop the nation. The Assin North by-election was the beginning of that realization.

Instead of their ‘insignificant’ minority numeric strength relative to the numbers constituting Parliament today, to learn from avoiding theatrics they accused their opponents in the 8^th parliament of, and prove to Ghanaians they have repented and apologize for the many ills currently being unraveled, they in unison wave important document they should be reading, to sing the National Anthem like a dirge which actually speak to why the people rejected them. Why have they suddenly refused to sing their party anthem? Is it because they have admitted to not living up to a popular line in that anthem? “Born to save Ghana”.

And who said you can only be oppressive when in the Majority? They should keep singing the national anthem on a daily basis to remind the two-third majority Ghanaians affectionately consider saviors to resist their (the minority) oppressive behaviors and tendencies.

The NPP must come to terms with their current ‘hospitalized’ condition to grow up and cure themselves. Else, the theatrics in the legislature that have become their hobby in the infant stages of a new government, will buy them more pain. In fact, expensive pain that will accumulate to get them hospitalized over and over again every four years. When that becomes chronic, their party will be buried, and the dirge, they cannot sing.
