President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in five additional ministers following their approval by Parliament, bringing the total number of ministers sworn into office so far to twelve (12).

The approval came after a rigorous vetting process and extensive parliamentary debates held on January 23 and 24.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Friday evening at the Jubilee House.

The newly sworn-in ministers are:
Abla Dzifa Gomashie – Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts George Opare Addo – Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment Emelia Arthur – Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development Ahmed Ibrahim – Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare – Minister for Trade, Industry, and Agribusiness and

Madam Agnes Naa Momo Lartey—Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection

In a brief address, President Mahama underscored the ministers’ crucial roles in resetting and advancing the nation.

He urged them to uphold transparency, inclusivity, and accountability in their service to Ghanaians.

“Ghanaians have signalled zero tolerance for poor governance,” he stated. “Ministers must serve with dignity, respect, and an unwavering commitment to national progress.”
