First Sky Group, a prominent Ghanaian conglomerate, commemorated its 22nd anniversary with a thanksgiving service held yesterday at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The event brought together stakeholders, government representatives, and well-wishers to celebrate the company’s remarkable achievements and contributions to national development.

In his address, Eric Seddy Kutortse, CEO of First Sky Group, attributed the company’s success to divine guidance and expressed profound gratitude to God for His grace and protection throughout the journey.

“We prioritize and acknowledge that our existence and growth have been underpinned by the abundant grace and love of God,” Kutortse remarked.

Highlighting the company's commitment to social responsibility, Kutortse revealed that the group has spent over GH¢36 million on its free dialysis and kidney transplant program since its inception in 2016. This initiative has sponsored kidney transplant surgeries for 16 patients suffering from chronic end-stage kidney disease. Additionally, First Sky Group has constructed over 72 church buildings across Ghana and provided assistance to complete 13 others.

The company is also making significant strides in renewable energy with a 50-megawatt solar PV project in Yendi, which is currently 65% complete. Kutortse emphasized the company’s efforts to address Ghana’s healthcare needs, particularly in organ transplantation, by advocating for a legislative framework to support organ harvestation in the country.

“Unfortunately, there is no legislation in Ghana concerning organ harvestation. As a result, there is a need to create a legislative regime that will support the establishment of a long-term organ harvestation program in Ghana,” he stated.

Reflecting on the group’s mission, Kutortse reaffirmed their dedication to creating a positive impact on the lives of Ghanaians. “We believe that once you put your faith and trust in God’s hand, you will find God’s hand in everything that you do. We are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of Ghanaians, and we will continue to work towards this goal.”

The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, who delivered a message on behalf of the President, H.E. John Mahama commended First Sky Group for its contributions to Ghana’s economy, particularly in creating employment opportunities and investing in critical sectors.

“The President is committed to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, and we will provide the necessary support to enable companies like First Sky Group to continue creating jobs and driving economic growth,” Debrah noted.

First Sky Group has been recognized for its extensive investments in healthcare, renewable energy, and other sectors, creating over 5,000 jobs in Ghana and setting a benchmark for corporate social responsibility.
