First-time MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah earns public praise for insightful questions at ministerial vetting

Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, has garnered widespread acclaim for his performance during Monday’s vetting of the president’s nominee for Attorney General.

Participating in his first parliamentary term and as a member of the Appointment Committee, Baffour Awuah impressed many with his insightful questions and composed demeanor. His approach highlighted not only his depth of knowledge but also his strategic acumen and maturity.

The reactions from the public have been overwhelmingly positive. One observer described him as "so knowledgeable," adding that his contributions exposed inconsistencies in the manifesto of the opposing party.

Another commended him for his potential on the parliamentary floor, expressing confidence in his abilities. Viewers also praised his follow-up questions, particularly on the tribunal issue, highlighting his understanding of constitutional matters.

His speech, clarity of thought, and choice of issues were noted as exemplary, with one supporter stating, "Today you made me proud watching you."

Elected in July 2024 to represent the Manhyia South constituency, Baffour Awuah succeeded Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, who had made significant contributions during his tenure. In the recent general elections, Baffour Awuah secured an impressive 76.23% of the votes, reflecting strong support from his constituents.

Baffour Awuah is a barrister-at-law, having been called to the Bar at the Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. He is currently the Senior Partner of Sarkodie Baffour Awuah and Partners, a law firm based in Accra.
