Mahama appoints 10-member transition team for smooth transfer of power

President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, has announced the appointment of a 10-member Transition Team to oversee the smooth transfer of power from the outgoing administration.

The appointments, made in line with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845), aim to ensure a seamless governance transition ahead of Mahama’s swearing-in on January 7, 2025.

According to a statement signed by National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi, Julius Debrah, a former Eastern Regional Minister, will serve as the co-chairperson of the team.

President-elect Mahama has also nominated Rt. Hon. Edward Doe Adjaho to the Transitional Advisory Council, which will provide strategic guidance to the team.

Other members include Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, Dr. Callistus Mahama, Dr. Valerie Sawyer, Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Mahama Ayariga, Goosie Tanoh, and Dr. Edward Omane Boamah.

The Transition Team will collaborate with representatives of the outgoing government to facilitate an effective handover process.

This development underscores the President-elect’s commitment to ensuring a smooth transfer of political power and maintaining governance continuity for the benefit of all Ghanaians.

PRESIDENT-ELECT, H.E. JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA APPOINTS MEMBERS OF THE 2024 TRANSITION TEAM.

H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President-elect of the Republic of Ghana, has in accordance with the provisions of the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (ACT 845), appointed the following personalities as members of the 2024 Transition Team.

The team will work closely with representatives of the out-going government with a view to ensuring a smooth transfer of political power to the incoming administration.

The Transition Team is composed of experienced individuals drawn from various sectors, including finance, governance, and public administration.

The appointed members of the Joint Transition Team are as follows:

1. Hon. Julius Debrah - Co-Chairperson
2. Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia - Member
3. Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey - Member
4. Dr. Callistus Mahama– Member/Secretary to the Transition Team
