Former National Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah has evoked a political debate with his apparent alignment with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in a viral video.
Exclusive footage obtained by MyNewsGH.com captures Mornah singing the NPP anthem while campaigning at an undisclosed location, a surprising development that has raised eyebrows across the political spectrum.
The video, captioned with the slogan “It’s Possible,” has further linked Mornah’s newfound association to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign mantra, a phrase the Vice President has used to inspire hope and rally support for his presidential ambitions.
This unexpected twist has left many questioning Mornah’s motivations and the implications for Ghana’s political landscape.
Mornah’s alignment with the NPP comes on the heels of a challenging chapter in his political career. As the PNC flagbearer, he was disqualified from the 2024 presidential race by the Electoral Commission (EC) on September 20, 2024.
The EC cited irregularities in his nomination forms, including incomplete details for supporters, the transfer of registered voters across districts to bolster his candidacy, and discrepancies in submitted signatures. This disqualification was a significant blow to Mornah’s efforts to elevate the PNC as a formidable force in Ghanaian politics.
