In a bid to enhance educational outcomes and foster community development, Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku, the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North Constituency, has made several impactful donations and initiatives.
These include the donation of 2,000 exercise books to schools in Brabedze, Koforidua, Nyinasi, and Dehia, as well as to individual students.
He provided a double-deck freezer to the Social Welfare Girls Technical Institute and oversaw the grading of several roads within the constituency. Beneficiary areas of the road improvements include Koforidua, Ankaful, Pedu Seminary, Pedu Estate, Nkanfoa, Amamoma, and Adaaso communities.
Dr. Nyarku emphasized that the donation of exercise books is aimed at reducing the financial burden on parents and improving access to educational materials in the constituency.
At a brief ceremony held on October 14, 2024, at the Social Welfare Girls Technical Institute in Pedu, the MP, popularly known as "Ragga," handed over the double-deck freezer to the school. "This is in fulfillment of a request you made to me some time back. I'm here to redeem my pledge and thank you all for your patience and support," he said during the presentation.
In addition to the freezer, Dr. Nyarku donated 20 bags of cement to St. Luke Catholic Church in Kakomdo to support their ongoing construction project.
As part of his broader vision for community development, he also contributed to several health infrastructure projects. He donated 50 bags of cement, a trip of stones, and a trip of sand to the Kwaprow community to support the construction of a health center. Similarly, he provided 50 bags of cement and a trip of sand to assist in completing the Dankwakrom CHPS compound. Dr. Nyarku emphasized that these donations aim to improve healthcare services in the constituency, stressing that "health is wealth."
Furthermore, to address sanitation issues, he donated 20 bags of cement to the Amoyaw community for the construction of a manhole to reduce open defecation. He also contributed to the refurbishment of the Esseurkyir public toilet, much to the appreciation of the local residents.
In response to complaints about poor road conditions, the MP facilitated the grading of several roads in the constituency. Areas that benefited from this initiative include Ankaful, Efutu Koforidua, 4th Ridge, Amamoma Round Palace, Nkanfoa New Site, Pedu Estate, and Arafyn and Aba Walker roads at Pedu.
Residents of these communities expressed their gratitude to Dr. Nyarku, thanking him for addressing their needs and improving their living conditions. Many offered prayers for his continued success and leadership.
