The Governing Council of the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC) has announced new leadership appointments poised to strengthen the institution's pursuit of excellence, an official statement revealed.

According to the statement from UniMAC's Vice Chancellor Prof. Eric Opoku Mensah, Prof. Winston Kwame Abroampa has been named Pro Vice-Chancellor while Professors Christiana Hammond, Cecilia Addei and Samuel Manasseh Yirenkyi will head the Institute of Journalism, Institute of Languages and Institute of Film and Television, respectively, as Rectors.

"The appointment of these accomplished professionals aligns perfectly with UniMAC's strategic vision of becoming a leading institution in media, arts, and communication education across Africa," Prof. Mensah was quoted as saying in the statement.

He added that the new appointees "bring extensive experience and expertise" that will boost the management and development of UniMAC and its constituent institutes.

Prof. Mensah expressed confidence that with the leadership of the new team, "the university will continue to thrive, delivering innovative education and contributing meaningfully to society."

The VC noted that the appointments also demonstrate UniMAC's commitment "to gender parity, academic excellence, and inclusive leadership."

As top management of UniMAC, Prof. Abroampa and the three Rectors are tasked with advancing the merged institution's goal of providing a world-class education that equips students with in-demand skills for careers in media, arts and communications.

Under their guidance, the university is expected to scale new heights in academic standards while producing graduates that are competitive globally.
