Why Yeshua (Jesus) Suffered for Mankind

It is written, “My little children (believers, dear ones), I am writing you these things so that you will not sin and violate God’s law. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate [who will intercede for us] with the Father: Jesus Christ the righteous [the upright, the just One, who conforms to the Father’s will in every way—purpose, thought, and action]. ² And He [that same Jesus] is the propitiation for our sins [the atoning sacrifice that holds back the wrath of God that would otherwise be directed at us because of our sinful nature—our worldliness, our lifestyle]; and not for ours alone, but also for [the sins of all believers throughout] the whole world” (1 Yochanan/John 2:1-2, AMP).

He never sinned. That is, Yeshua never sinned but he became the sacrifice for sin so that everyone who believes in him could receive forgiveness of sins. In this article, we will look at the matter at hand: Yahweh Elohym (God) has a legal case against all of humanity. That case is that we have missed the mark of His original purpose for our lives through transgression or going AGAINST what He considers to be the “right” thing: His Torah or Law.

The Facts of Yahweh’s Legal Case against Mankind

^“21But now the righteousness of God has been clearly revealed [independently and completely] apart from the Law, though it is [actually] confirmed by the Law and the [words and writings of the] Prophets. ²² This righteousness of God comes through faith in Jesus Christ for all those [Jew or Gentile] who believe [and trust in Him and acknowledge Him as God’s Son]. There is no distinction, ²³ since all have sinned and continually fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:21-23, AMP).

Fact 1
Yahweh has a Torah or Law that dictates the living patterns of His chosen people known as Yisrael in the book of Moshe (Moses).

Fact 2
The standard of the Torah’s legal contents are also referred to as righteousness or righteous law.

Fact 3
No human being has or can possibly ever achieve the righteousness associated with Yahweh’s Torah without His help or assistance.

Fact 4
Yahweh’s standard of Law, the Torah, can be achieved ONLY through faith (belief) in Yeshua whose death atones for lawbreaking (transgression), is able to make one “just” and furthermore, powerful enough to resist further transgression that is inspired by Satan the adversary.

Heaven’s Court Order: Death for all who have Transgressed the Torah

In the eyes of Yahweh, all persons have transgressed his holy law . . . the Torah. They have not lived up to what He prescribed for his own chosen people Yisrael, which was to be an example for every other nation. Therefore, the death penalty was to be meted out to every one of us, since we have all sinned. It is therefore written, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God [that is, His remarkable, overwhelming gift of grace to believers] is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23, AMP).

Since everyone has sinned and the punishment for sin under the Torah is death, Yahweh declared all Yisrael along with the other nations guilty as charged. However, rather than proceed with the sentencing of everyone to eternal separation from Him (this is what we call hell), the Elohym (God) of Yisrael chose mercy because of His love for creation.

The One Condition to receive Yahweh’s Pardon

Yahweh’s throne is in heaven from where He judges both things spiritual and in the natural realm. The option He chose for the reversal of heaven’s court order was the sacrifice of His sinless Son as a propitiation (atonement) for the sins of mankind. In other words, Yahweh is willing to literally forgive the sins of mankind completely . . . on condition that . . .

The gospel of Yochanan (John) states it like this: “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life” (Yochanan/John 3:16, AMP).

Belief in Yeshua is therefore Yahweh’s only option by which ANYONE can escape the death penalty for transgressing His Torah. This is the gospel or “good word” of the Kingdom of God. Thank you for hearing the gospel today . . . believe and be saved from the Satanic influence that causes humans to transgress and the ultimate judgment for sin, which as death! This is why Yeshua suffered for mankind. Amen.
