The Christian and Traditional Festivals

The Christian and Traditional Festivals

There is nothing wrong with a Christian celebrating their traditional festivals. Festivals are celebrated to remember our forefathers and the legacies they left behind. Festivals also serve as a means to preserve our history and cultural heritage. Festivals present an opportunity to unify us and fight for a common cause.

For many years, the early teachers did not do a good job of teaching us the accurate word; hence, many Africans have ignorantly abandoned their history. If we call on St. Mary, Paul, and others and see nothing wrong with it, then what makes it a crime to call on my forefathers?

Europeans remember their ancestors every year by visiting their graves, but to the Black man, his ancestors are evil. During Christmas, there are those who pray and fast, and there are those who get drunk and indulge in all social vices. Just because someone celebrates his traditional festivals doesn't make him an idol worshipper.

On this occasion, I wish all my Fante people and the people of Oguaa Cape Coast a Happy Fetu Afahye. #fetuafahye
