Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the former Minister of Energy, has expressed pride in his achievements during his tenure and thanked stakeholders for their support as he steps down from the role.
Commonly called NAPO, Dr. Opoku Prempeh resigned from his ministerial position earlier this month after being selected as the running mate to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the 2024 elections.
In a farewell message posted on social media on Monday, July 22, NAPO reflected on his time at the Energy Ministry and the progress made in the sector.
"I am proud of what we achieved over the period and I am confident that It forms the basis for many more expoits in the quest at keeping the lights on and the nation moving," he said.
The former minister said he was "humbled by the outpour of love and well wishes" from management and staff at the ministry and other sector agencies as they bid him farewell.
NAPO added that he remains "grateful for the support of the Management and Staff of the Ministry and sector agencies," indicating his commitment to continue working with them for Ghana's development.
His resignation was accepted by President Akufo-Addo to allow NAPO focus fully on his new role as the NPP's running ahead of the 2024 general elections.
