In the Nanton constituency, the upcoming election presents a crucial opportunity for a change. Hardi Tufeiru's tenure as an MP has been marked by incompetency, self enrichment, lack of transparency, corruption and neglect of the needs of the constituents. It is time for the people of Nanton to take a stand and vote for a candidate who truly represents their interests and works towards the betterment of the constituency. Nanton constituency can not and must not continue to be stagnated.
Lack of Development: Under Mohammed Hardi Tufeiru's leadership as an MP, the constituency has not seen any significant development projects that could improve the lives of the people in Nanton. One of the responsibilities of the MPs is to lobby for projects and initiatives that benefits their constituencies, such as infrastructure development, community programs, and advocating for resources to improve the lives of the people. However, this is an MP who either lacks the necessary lobbying skills or he simply do not care about the development of Nanton. Lack of furniture in the schools, issues of clean water, poor road networks and lack of support for farmers are few of the many developmental challenges in the constituency. Yet , Hardi Tufeiru care less about these developmental challenges. Comparing Hardi Tufeiru to his compatriots in the ruling government, he comes next to nothing. Even as a second term mp serving as a deputy minister for Food and Agriculture, he can not be compared to first term mps with no appointments in terms of development in their various constituencies.
Transparency Issues: There have been concerns about transparency in the allocation of resources and decision-making processes, leading to a lack of trust in the current MP. There are rumors about contracts of the Nanton district assembly being awarded to him through sole sourcing. In a TV interview prior to the Npp parliamentary primaries, a traditional leader and an npp stalwart, Nanton Warivi Naa specifically mentioned an abandon GES directorate project of which the MP is the contractor. Clearly, this is a conflict of interest situation. Apart from awarding these contracts him through dubious means, he takes the monies without executing such projects. There are also accusations of him diverting central government projects to some areas for his personal gains.
Neglect of Constituents: MPs are expected to engage with their constituents regularly, listen to their concerns, and provide updates on parliamentary activities. This feedback loop is essential for effective representation. However, people feel neglected and unheard by the current MP, with key issues often being ignored or inadequately addressed. This is an MP who only visits the people at the time of elections. After winning, he builds a wall between himself and the people.
The Need for Change: The sheer wickedness, self enrichment and incompetency of Hardi Tufeiru highlight the urgent need for a new direction and fresh leadership in Nanton. That is why Nanton must vote for a person who truly cares about their wellbeing, a person who understands their needs, a person who has proven to be ready and capable for the task. He is no any other person than Dr Mohammed Sherif Abdul-Khaliq, the NDC parliamentary candidate.
As the election approaches, it is essential for the people of Nanton to come together and make their voices heard through their votes, by electing Dr Khaliq who is dedicated to serving the interests of the people and prioritizing the development of the constituency, so that Nanton can move towards a brighter future once again.
It is time to say "Enough is enough", vote for Dr Khaliq to save Nanton constituency from stagnation and neglect. The power to bring about positive change lies in the hands of the people of Nanton constituency, and this upcoming election is a crucial opportunity to shape the future of Nanton for the better.
