Kasoa shrinking penis: Arresting those who blew 'false alarm' isn't enough; arrest those involved in mob attacks too — Kwamena Duncan to police service

Kwamena Duncan has urged the Ghana Police Service to extend their investigation beyond those who spread false rumors about shrinking and missing genitals in Kasoa to individuals involved in mob attacks against innocent residents.

The claims of genital disappearance in Kasoa have sparked fear and panic among residents, leading some to take precautionary measures such as walking in groups or avoiding crowded areas.

However, the Ghana Police Service has refuted these claims and arrested nine individuals for spreading false information that resulted in public unrest and mob attacks.

A statement issued by the Police said, “The Ghana Police Service notes with concern this increasing trend of persons making false claims of the disappearance of their genitals and blaming innocent bystanders that sometimes lead to mob attacks. We wish to caution the public against such criminal conduct that is likely to harm innocent people as well as disturb the public peace.”

Commenting on the issue on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show, the former Central Regional Minister Kwamena Duncan emphasized the need for the police to also apprehend those involved in the mob attacks.

He highlighted the presence of video evidence showing individuals taking the law into their own hands and subjecting others to violent attacks based on false accusations.

"The arrest shouldn’t have been for only those who made the false alarm but also those who engaged in the mob attacks because videos of the incident are evident," Duncan stated.

He continued, “So, while arresting those making the false alarm, we must look further to those who took the law into their hands and falsely accused people and as a result beat them with clubs and so forth so that we take it from all sides.”
