Women in Bikini!

Women in Bikini!
12.03.2024 LISTEN

"Now, almost every woman moves about in an exotic camouflage ---borrowed hair, borrowed eye lashes, borrowed nails, borrowed bosom, borrowed height, borrowed backside. And if it was possible, they would borrow the central tower too!"

My people -- our women are on rampage -- there's no safe place for men these days.

Back in the day, black beauty was the toast of elegance. Our ladies used to be properly attired and decently mannered. Those were the days of the African woman, when natural black beauty ruled the heart.

Our women plaited their hair in black curls. They were beautiful and proud in their simple but authentic African clothes. Then, women looked upon men with reverence and pride. It was an anathema for a woman to wear a man's clothes or even speak rudely to him. Trousers was the preserve of men, and shorts too, for she was too regal to expose her contours in public.

My remembrance of even fanciful or bawdy women is no less inferior, for even the most explicit of them was shy to openly publish her voluptous wares in the market place.

They were only noticeable in the street corners and dark shadows by practiced eyes acclimatised to such classified lingerie.

But all that is history. Our women now have a voracity for smart dressing and smart looks -- like smart food or smart phones. Thus, in the spirit of smartness, our women have moved away from our hallowed, natural, authentic beauty to exotic derivations that have unfortunately destroyed the image of the African woman.

Now, almost every woman moves about in an exotic camouflage ---borrowed hair, borrowed eye lashes, borrowed nails, borrowed bosom, borrowed height, borrowed backside. And if it was possible, they would borrow the central tower too!

And with these fleet of rented body parts, they pepper us daily with their strange looks and pretentious apparitions that make them look larger than life.Woe to bachelors and unhappy husbands!

There was a time l refrained from looking at those temptatious curvatures, fearing they were a staircase leading to Lucifer's flames.

So l would cast my eyes down insteas of looking straight --- like a child in fright --- when any such tempter passed by me or walked within my perimeter.

Unfortunately, l couldn't persist in my visual starvation for too long, for the apparitions spring up on you in the blink of an eye from all directions menacingly, like a sea of crabs ransacking your bedchamber.

They appear before your eyes suddenly without warning from every corner--- on the streets, in the market, in school, at funerals, even in church, where their provocation is most tenacious--- thanks be to God for smart-preaching!

Thus, my defences completely broken down by their formidable numbers, l gave up the concept of not looking at them altogether. Afterall, God did not create protagonist backsides to scare men, tempt us, stupify or hypnotize us. Why should a man be afraid to look at flesh and blood when he is one himself?

"A real man is he who can look and be unprovoked," l told myself. But the difficulty--- ladies and gentlemen--- is that real men may not look without provocation.

And when we are so unfortunately provoked--- and this not by our own making, those of us who are a bit religious would take it so much to heart and to conscience. We would reprimand ourselves severely for being so embarrassingly susceptible to little girls in fanciful bikinis and trousers!

My friend, this is a rather complicated matter. Today's woman wants to look like a fairy from Athens or a madonna from California, rather than a black beauty from Bubuashie or Mafikope.

So adorned in their set of make-believe human paraphernalia, they move about semi-naked, quarter-naked, or almost naked entrancing men and demeaning womanhood at the same time.

Most men dare not look or admire these mementos when their wives are around. But our wives are not always around to police the eyes of straying men. And what about bachelors who must put up with this discomfort every now and then?

I have no solutions unfortunately. When the apparitions become too dangerous for spiritual integrity, call upon the name of the Lord, for he will yet save thee!
