A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr Fosu Frimpong has commended the National Executive Committee of the NPP for setting up a Reconciliation Committee to address the differences among the rank and file of the party for victory in the December 7 general elections.
Speaking to the correspondent in an interview during his,"thank you tour" in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency in the Ashanti region, where he lost in the January 27 parliamentary primaries of the NPP, Frimpong described the decision of the NEC as timely.
He noted that some NPP sympathizers are not feeling comfortable in the party due to some alleged bad treatment they suffered at the hands of some party stalwarts.
Therefore with the formation of the Reconciliation Committee, he hinted, a way would be paved for all aggrieved party activists to come on board.
According to Mr Frimpong, the upcoming general elections is crucial for members of the party to resolve all issues for peace among the supporters of the NPP to ensure that the party remains in power.
Mr Fosu Frimpong believes that the Committee members would show transparency, give the aggrieved supporters a free chance to voice out their grievances for the necessary actions to be taken to enhance the winning chances of the NPP in the December 2024 elections.
Frimpong advised against those who have been allegedly threatening to defect to NDC due to some minor misunderstanding in the party to change their mindsets, stressing that he is hopeful the Committee members would work hard in line with the NPP Constitution to solve the problems that would be presented before them.
