Offinso North: CTVET Boss Fred Kyei Asamoah defeats incumbent MP A.C Ntim in NPP primaries

Director General of Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET), Dr Fred Kyei Asamoah has defeated incumbent MP Hon Augustine Collins Ntim in the NPP's parliamentary primaries to lead as the Offinso North candidate for the ruling party in the December 7.

After an intense exercise at Akumadan in the Offinso North District, on 27th January, 2024, Fred Kyei polled an impressive 378 votes out of a total of 622 valid votes cast to beat the deputy local government minister who garnered just 231 votes with presidential staffer Rockson Adu Boahen securing 1 vote.

Fred Kyei's resounding victory in the parliamentary primaries has therefore thwarted the ambitions of Hon Collins Augustine Ntim who was bidding for his fifth term in Parliament after four consecutive terms as MP for the Offinso North.

In his earlier media interactions ahead of the internal elections, the CTVET boss Fred Kyei pledged his commitment towards human capital development, particularly the youth. He also outlined his vision to inspire massive development and general progress of life in all sectors.

"I envision a constituency where every resident enjoys a high quality of life, access to quality education and healthcare, and ample opportunities for economic growth. Offinso North will be a model of sustainable development, fostering a sense of unity and pride among its diverse population,” he stated.

Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, a native of Akumadan in the Offinso North District holds a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Denver, Colorado, USA, a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina, Pembroke, USA.
