The National Youth Authority (NYA) in collaboration with International Youth Fellowship is set to host the 2023 National Youth Conference in Accra.

The event, scheduled from 31st August to 3rd September 2023, will take place at the University of Ghana Athletic Oval, Legon.

The 4-day conference dubbed "Reformed Youth, Reformed Ghana" is a development program aimed at training the youth for the socio-economic development of Ghana.

This was announced by the CEO of NYA Mr. Pius Enam Hadzide during the press launch of the National Youth Month Celebration in Accra.

The celebration is under the theme "Breaking Barriers: Creating a Stronger Youth Development Ecosystem".

Mr. Pius Enam Hadzide said the National Youth Month celebration is dedicated to providing opportunities for advocating policies and initiatives that enable the youth to thrive and actively engage in matters of national interest.

According to him, the Authority is fully set to "embrace and appreciate the youth of this country as the driving force of progress whose passion, innovation and resilience shape the trajectory of society".

"This celebration isn't only about festivities, but the creation of an essential platform to facilitate discussions about the myriad of challenges that the youth of this country face in the pursuit of their needs, aspirations, and dreams. It is about providing them with mentorship and partnership," he stated.

"The importance of the declaration of Youth Month to the President, H.E Nana Akufo Addo can not be over-emphasized," says Mr Pius Enam Hadzide.

"The month-long celebration underscores the indispensable contributions that the over 11.7 million youth in Ghana make to the growth of our economy, including serving as a significant source of human capital for both the public and private sector labor market," he said. "It also is a testament to the Government's commitment to nurturing and harnessing the potential of the youth for the betterment of the country."

"To achieve the set target for this celebration, our collective efforts will reverberate far beyond the thirty days," Mr. Hadzide. "We aim to establish a lasting impact by fostering an environment that encourages innovation, inclusion, and civic engagement among our youth."

The Country Director of the International Youth Fellowship, Rev. David OH, in his remarks, indicated that the youth conference will intensify Leadership Programs, Mind Education, Academy, and World Cultural Dance performances for the attendees.

He, therefore, urged the general public and stakeholders to join hands in making the conference a success.

The National Youth Conference will culminate in the Youth Month Celebration.
