"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity I have been provided to work with Ghana Police Service for the past years. It has been a wonderful experience to work for such a great institution," the outgoing officer stated.

Meanwhile, C/Insp. Issifu Mahmoud, a known card-bearing member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced his plans to contest the Binduri parliamentary seat of the party.

Confirming his political ambition to press men, Mahmoud said, "it's no secret now that I will go to my hometown and pick a form to contest NDC parliamentary primaries when the time is due."

"Currently, our national executives have put a hold on us for a certain reason and I hope that I become PC, so we will take back the seat from the incumbent NPP," the lawyer cum politician said.

Ahead of the 2024 polls, many professional and noted faces, including the General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association, Dr. Titus Beyuo have picked forms to contest NDC primaries.

The announcement of Lawyer Issifu Mahmud therefore not surprising to political pundits as they predict a win for NDC in the upcoming general elections.
