I felt like throwing out when I read a needless demand for the tax returns of Volta Klenam Farms and Industries Ltd, a company supposedly owned by the hard working Member of Parliament for North Tong Constituency, Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
A group calling itself The Movement for Justice Ghana are claiming the above mentioned company, which is owned by the North Tong Member of Parliament, has not been paying taxes and are therefore calling on the Ghana Revenue Authority to publish his tax returns.
I am however, surprised that a so called justice group are not interested in how many jobs this said company has created for the dejected, unemployed youth. It is easier to investigate the number of jobs this particular company has created than writing to the GRA to disclose its tax returns.
If they indeed stand for justice, they should tell the general public the number of youth the company has employed and how it has reduced unemployment.
I am not surprised they are making such frivolous demands. The members of this group have never in their lives employed a single youth so they don't know the value of people whose activities lead to job creation.
I am sorry I have to say this kind of frivolous partisan interest must pave way for the development of the country. We are more interested in production than taxation.

Stupid write up. It has created jobs so should not pay tax?. Haba ... such low level thinking? Unless it has gone under the arrangement for these new entrepreneurial startups that have been given exemption of filing taxes for the initial years.... it is not very smart to say that because it has created a jobs they shouldn't pay tax. assuming the accusation being made is correct.
